The UNEP Collaborating Centre on Energy and Environment (UCCEE) is in the process of changing name to UNEP Risoe Centre on Energy, Climate and Sustainable Development, or simply UNEP Risoe Centre (URC).

UNEP has established a number of partnerships over the last few years that also have a collaborating centre status. The Centre's former name was no longer reflecting its mandate to assist UNEP on energy and environmental issues, with no domestic obligations.

The change also indicates the closer association between UNEP and Risoe, including the hosting of the GNESD Secretariat.
