Biofuels Assessment on Technical Opportunities
and Research Needs for Latin America (BioTop)
Overview
Project website
The objective of the BioTop Project was to identify opportunities
and needs for improved first and second generation biofuel conversion
technologies in Latin America. BioTop created and supported specific
Research and Technology Development (RTD) cooperation between Latin
America and Europe.
BioTop was implemented by a consortium of 10 partners from Europe and
Latin America, including Risoe National Laboratory for Sustainable
Development at the Technical University of Denmark (Risoe DTU), one of
URC's parent organizations.
Within the Project, Risoe DTU was responsible for:
- Survey womens participation in the RTD field of biofuels in Latin
American countries;
- Asses tools for sustainable biomass production; and,
- Develop scenarios and roadmaps for biofuel RTD in Latin America.
