The aim of the
Climate Screening Project was to help participating countries screen national
development planning activities for potential impacts of climate change in
relevant sectors and key programmes.
Climate screening provided expertise for
designing climate change adaptation
programmes, while exploring ‘windows of opportunity’ for raising key policy
issues and influencing the design of development programmes and investments.
In Phase I, the Project cooperated with
Mozambique, Tanzania and Vietnam. Phase II assisted Bangladesh, Bolivia,
Nicaragua, and Uganda.
The Project was funded by the Danish International
Development Assistance (Danida), and was implemented by URC with national
counterparts in the participating countries.
