the ASEAN Region

The aim of the
project was to promote grid-connected wind energy projects in Cambodia, the
Philippines and Vietnam. Activities comprise feasibility assessment and
capacity building.
The feasibility
component comprised 4 case studies in the Philippines and Vietnam. The
studies included wind resource assessment, power system analysis and grid
connection study; policy, institutional and market studies; technical
feasibility, economic and financial studies, CDM assessment, financial and
contractual framework for implementation, and information dissemination.
The capacity building component comprised
training and workshops, run in parallel with the feasibility assessment .
Activities in Cambodia were limited to capacity building.
The Project was co-financed by the EC-ASEAN
Energy Facility, and implemented by Risoe National Laboratory (Denmark),
Innovation Energie Developpement (France), Mercapto Consult (Denmark),
Philippine National Oil Company, Energy Development Corporation
(Philippines), Institute of Energy (Vietnam) and Ministry of Industry, Mines
and Energy (Cambodia).
